Creative Arts and Dementia Network (CDAN) is working with MHA on a programme of creative arts that builds on and extends MHA's outstanding Music Therapy Service. CDAN are running their successful FLOURISH professional development training programme for arts practitioners who want to learn how to work effectively with people with dementia. You will live within reasonable travelling distance of one of MHA's care homes in Coventry or Croydon and be available to attend an introductory 2 day workshop (in late August or mid December 2018 or mid February 2019) Over the next 6-12 weeks ( depending on your commitments) you will apply learning to practice by supporting residents with dementia participating in 3 hour dance, drama, digital arts, story telling/poetry sessions on Thursdays in Croydon or Fridays in Coventry for 6-12 weeks. You will work with an experienced arts practitioners leading the sessions, receive additional monthly training and a full course manual with references and resources.
