Male Participants Wanted!
We'd like to meet with men/boys from all different walks to life to talk about masculinity and violence against women. Your words will be used to create a new verbatim play all in the words of real men but spoken by actors. This work does not demonise men or present all men as perpetrators! Instead, it invites men to be a part of a conversation that they usually are not permitted to enter.
So far we're interviewed over 90 men but would really like to reach 100-150. In interviews we discuss topics like masculinity, gender stereotypes, role models, emotions, the #metoo movement, aggression and violence against women (including coercion and control). We think it's extremely important to hear more men's voices on these topics and for all genders to come together to raise awareness and promote change.
All men are welcome even if the topic doesn't feel particularly relevant to you. There's no judgement and no right or wrong answers. You'll remain anonymous ' all identifying details about you will be changed so you can feel free to say whatever you like. We can do 1-2-1 interviews as well as group interviews.
This project is supported by City Hall, Ovalhouse Theatre and Camdens People's Theatre.
